Where we are now and the opening of our St. Louis, MO Office

Previously we shared (in this blog post here) that Becker Logistics set out to open four new offices in 2019. On March 4, we opened our second new office in 2019 located in St. Louis, MO. This office is being run by Dominic Marchesi, who has a plethora of Logistics experience managing a team as well as servicing customers and carriers. Dominic first heard about Becker Logistics while attending a conference that Becker Logistics CEO and founder Jim Becker was speaking at. After the conference Jim and Dominic met and talked about their visions and drives and something clicked. After some initial back and forth on the office location, we settled in St. Louis as we believe this will allow us to secure some great talent as this location continues to grow and expand. Dominic is excited and equipped to open and run this office.

This office was our 7th Becker location. The rapid expansion is only possible due to our recent growth and expansion, in the last year we've had a 133% growth in revenue. Additionally, we hired 88 employees in 2018; a 50% increase year over year. As we continue to grow and expand, clinging to our core values as a company is critical. It is especially critical as we plan for our future.

Becker Logistics kicks off blog series with 7 blog writing tips

Written by Tammy C
Marketing Manager

In honor of Becker Logistics kicking off a new blog campaign and cadence, we wanted to share with you some tips on what makes a great blog.
It is becoming increasingly important for businesses to develop a strong web/digital presence. Unfortunately that can come at a high cost. Did you know that according to Statisa, of internet users aged 19-29, 47 percent read blogs on a regular basis? What better way to inexpensively reach potential customers, drive traffic to your website, build authority in your industry and generate leads. Bottom line, blogging is a good business strategy! BUT….how do you cut through the noise? After all, there is a lot of other good content out there. Here are some tips.

Know your audience – write to them
Create content that resonates with your audience. It should be relevant and useful. Do some research into your target audience. Understand who they are and what they want to hear about. Start talking to them like they are your friend; be casual in your writing but remember you are writing for a public audience.

Write a killer headline
Instantaneously grab the attention of your readers or your blog won’t be read. You only get one chance to make a first impression – nail it! Remember this is your bait to pull the reader in.

Use short sentences
In today’s day and age readers do not read your every word. They are skimming and scanning.

Include links
Add links to valuable relevant pages or posts within your Blog. This does several things. This introduces your readers to other parts of your website. It also takes them to other relevant information; building your reputation. Lastly, it helps better your SEO - which leads us to the next tip……

Remember SEO
Even if you have the greatest blog ever and you don’t set yourself up with content that search engines will find, no one will discover you. Add the key words into your document on how you think people would find you on the web. Do your research to know what that is.

Proofread
Read it several times. Run spell check. Run grammar check. And just when you think you can’t check anything more…..read it again. Nothing kills your credibility like bad grammer.

Write Often
The more your write, the better you get and the more you draw your reader in!
