Becker Logistics Placed on Crain’s List of Top Chicago Private Companies

Glendale Heights, IL, May 7, 2020

Becker was recently added to Crain’s largest privately-owned companies in the Chicago area based on 2019 revenues. We were placed at 353 with a 2019 revenue of $76.5 million. This is Becker Logistics’ first time being placed on Crain’s list of privately-owned companies in Chicago and we are excited to continue climbing up the list and see where we place next year.

The employees of Becker Logistics are thrilled about the placement on the list and are excited to see what kind of impact this will have. “With everything going on with COVID-19 it’s always nice to get some good news,” said Becker Logistics employee Cindy Coleman.

The Crain’s largest privately-owned companies in Chicago list is released every year on ChicagoBusiness.com. We would like to thank Crain’s for putting this list together every year. Also, we would like to thank all of our partners for bringing us to where we are now.

A Look Back at 2019

2019 was a challenging year for all of logistics with the freight recession that impacted all of transportation and logistics. Through this time, we continued to push forward with our services and make sure that our customers were taken care of. Luckily, the partnerships that we built proved beneficial and we were able to pull out of the situation. We’ve learned a lot in 2019 and looked to apply them to 2020 with the fresh start of a new year.

2020 and Continuing Forward

But then COVID-19 struck. 2020 has posed a great challenge, not just for logistics, but life in general. In the beginning of the year, things were looking up, as we were finally getting out of the freight recession of 2019. But COVID-19 has caused a massive overhaul in our operations and the logistics market. We were able to transfer to an entirely remote setup for all of our employees in March of 2020 without much impact to our daily operation. The real change among COVID-19 has been in the transportation market. There has been a massive drop in demand for transportation which means less freight to be moved.
Overall, we look forward to the world returning to normal and the transportation market going back to where it was earlier this year. Additionally, we look forward to growing our operations so that we can continue to rise the ranks of Crain’s list.
