Accounts Receivable provides financial, administrative, and clerical support to the accounting department and the organization. Accounts Receivable ensures the company receives payments for the services provided and records those transactions accordingly. The role secures revenue, posts receipts, resolves discrepancies, maintains the billing system, generates invoices and statements, account reconciliations, investigates and resolves any irregularities or enquiries, and maintains the integrity of the data. The below job description highlights the day-to-day management of the accounts receivable cycle.

What You Will Need:

  • 1-3 years of Accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred but not required
  • Proven work experience in Logistics or Transportation preferred but not required
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities:

  • Handle investigations for Aged Account Receivables & Correcting
  • Maintain customer information- updates
  • Work with customers to email daily invoices versus snail mail
  • Process daily freight bills (Rendition)
  • Perform rate changes for accounting via credit/rebills
  • Handle customer billing with special invoicing requirements
  • Enter third party billing/invoicing into customers web portals
  • Take inbound customer calls
  • Print your collections report daily
  • Initiate new customer contact call
  • Send out requested W-9 forms
  • Short pay investigations
  • Familiarizing yourself with third party portals for payment status updates
  • Locate and notify customers with delinquent accounts by mail, telephone, or email to solicit payment.
  • Confer with customers by telephone or email to determine reasons for overdue payments and to review the terms of sales, service, or credit contracts.
  • Notify management of delinquent accounts and the deciding factors in sending them to collections
  • Manage assigned daily duties that may be subject to change
  • Maintain the integrity of the data

Training:

  • Attend daily/weekly Outward Mindset Zoom Meetings
  • Complete 1 module on 3PL LMS each month to further your skillsets
  • 1 HR training each month
  • 1-on-1 with direct report and or CEO
